Pest Control
No CommentsPest control is something that most of us don’t feel good about doing but we still do it as it is a huge compromise to live with pests and I don’t know many people who is willing to do it. It is not just the visual effect of seeing pest in our house but also mice, rats, cockroaches, spiders, termites, flies and fleas without control would spread disease, destroy homes and properties like garden sheds and made it difficult to inhabit out living spaces.
Most of us regularly calls a pest control technician out to avoid infestation of different insects in our houses, others only realise the important of this procedure after they spotted a cockroach in their kitchen.
Renters are required to get pest control done in most of the cases when they are leaving the property, particularly if they had a pet on the premises while they were there.
One of the biggest concern I have with controlling pests in the home or in the garden is the effect of chemicals used on my family and myself. If you ask the technicians about this topic they will tell you that they only kill the pests and harmless to humans. They sincerely believe that you can tell as they normally wear the least amount of protective clothing possible and they do their job all day every day. However, my concern is that if they had been educated properly about the chemicals they use and if they are entirely aware their effect on humans.
Because of the above concern of mine regarding chemicals used to control all king of pest insects around the house I have been looking into green pest control lately. Working out if it is as effective as the commonly used pesticides. There seems to be a good progress on this field and hopefully it will not be long before there is a fully competitive green option on the market to control common pests around the house.
My above concern extends to the way fleas are controlled on cats and dogs. The products used there are chemicals indeed and they go right on their neck when you touch them most often. Never has been able to work out if it is a problem and if I should be washing my hand every time I pet my cat.
Then again my concern disappeared when I found termites in the back yard garden sheds a few years ago. I got the termite control guys out and did not care what chemicals they used as long as eradicated the termites and stopped them destroying the sheds and getting into the house. So once there is an emergency, most people would be concerned only about protecting their property and not necessary about the substances that are being used to get rid of the pests.
Pest control is a must for all of us and even though it is not our favorite topic, we will still have to get it done. When considering a pest control technician, make sure you chose a licensed technician with experience.
